Afro HouseHip-Hop
Afro house, deep grooves and melodic electronic music fill Jungle Island during an open-air edition of Soundtuary led by AMÉMÉ and Malive. Taking place Saturday, October 3, the lineup also features back-to-back sets from Waae and Ketzal and from Palma and Unor, extending Soundtuary’s recurring Miami series into a seven-hour outdoor session. Benin-born DJ and producer AMÉMÉ draws on West African rhythms, tribal percussion, vocals and deep house through a sound closely connected to his One Tribe label and event platform. His international appearances have included Coachella, Burning Man, EDC and Tomorrowland. Brazilian producer Malive came to electronic music after working in Brazil’s hip-hop scene and now blends house with Afro and melodic influences, with releases on labels including Defected, Diynamic, MoBlack and Kompakt. The supporting lineup reflects Soundtuary’s more melodic and groove-driven side. Miami-based Waae moves between house, organic and Afro-influenced sounds, while Argentine-born Ketzal combines Afro-melodic elements with instrumental and electronic textures. The event also includes a food truck, marketplace and reusable-cup program aimed at reducing single-use plastics. A boho-chic, artistic dress code is encouraged, and admission is limited to guests ages 21 and older.
